This Shipping & Delivery Policy applies to all orders placed with Mittai & Karam, operated by Cafeworks Hospitality LLP, having its registered office at The Storez, Bhoomi buildings, OMR Rd, near Lord Shiva temple, Navalur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600130.

By placing an order on our website, you agree to the terms set out below.


Nature of Products

We specialize in freshly prepared Indian snacks made in small batches using natural ingredients. Our products:

  1. Are perishable food items
  2. Have short shelf lives
  3. Are prepared after order confirmation (unless otherwise specified)

Due to their perishable nature, timely delivery and proper storage upon receipt are essential.


Order Processing Timeline

  1. Orders are processed within 1–3 business days from order confirmation.
  2. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next working day.
  3. During peak seasons or high order volumes, dispatch timelines may be extended. Customers will be notified of any significant delays.

Orders are dispatched only after successful payment confirmation (for prepaid orders).


Shipping Timelines

Estimated delivery timelines:

  1. Metro Cities: 1–3 business days after dispatch
  2. Non-Metro / Tier 2 & 3 Cities: 2–5 business days after dispatch
  3. Remote Locations: 3–7 business days (subject to courier availability)

Delivery timelines are estimates and not guaranteed, as they depend on third-party logistics partners.


Shipping Charges

Shipping charges (if applicable):

  1. Are displayed at checkout before payment.
  2. May vary based on order value, weight, delivery location, and promotional offers.
  3. Free shipping thresholds (if applicable) will be clearly communicated on the website.

We do not levy any hidden charges.


Packaging Standards

To maintain freshness and safety:

  1. All snacks are packed in airtight, food-grade packaging.
  2. Packaging is designed to preserve freshness during normal transit conditions.
  3. Outer protective packaging is used to minimize transit damage.

Despite careful packaging, fragile snacks may experience minor breakage during transit without affecting quality or safety.


Delivery & Acceptance

  1. Customers must ensure accurate shipping details at the time of placing the order.
  2. Delivery will be attempted at the address provided.
  3. If the customer is unavailable, courier partners may attempt re-delivery as per their policy.

Upon delivery, customers are advised to:

  1. Inspect the package immediately.
  2. Check for visible damage, tampering, or puffed packaging.
  3. Store products as per instructions on the label.

Failure to accept delivery may result in product spoilage due to perishability. In such cases, refunds may not be applicable.


Delays Beyond Our Control

We shall not be held liable for delays caused by:

  1. Natural calamities
  2. Strikes or transportation disruptions
  3. Government restrictions
  4. Incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer
  5. Courier service disruptions

However, we will make reasonable efforts to coordinate with logistics partners to minimize delays.


Risk & Title

Risk of loss and title for products pass to the customer upon delivery to the shipping address provided at checkout.

For prepaid orders, responsibility transfers once the product is marked delivered by the courier partner.


Incorrect Address / Failed Delivery

If an order is returned due to:

  1. Incorrect or incomplete address
  2. Customer unavailability
  3. Refusal to accept delivery

We reserve the right to:

  1. Deduct shipping and handling charges before re-shipping, or
  2. Decline refund due to perishability of goods.

Compliance with Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020

In accordance with applicable law:

  1. We provide transparent shipping charges before checkout.
  2. We do not impose cancellation charges unless clearly disclosed.
  3. Consumers retain statutory rights in case of defective goods, deficient service, or unfair trade practices.
